The Show Bonjour Monsieur Gauguin 1889 Oil on canvas 113 x 92 cm Prague, National Gallery Bonjour M. GauguinAMERICAN PREMIÈRE Paul Gauguin. His life, his community, his struggles as an artist, taken from Paris to exotic Tahiti. Gauguin's own words are used as libretto with Carlone's beautiful music that evokes Debussy. Gauguin exists in a world of art where he communicates with his own inner voice, sung by soprano Shawnette Sulker. Sung in French with English supertitles. Yannis Adoniou, Artistic Director of the KUNST-STOFF Contemporary Dance Company, will collaborate with Mark Streshinsky to tell Gauguin's story through movement set in an immersive projected world of Gauguin's art created by Jeremy Knight. Mary Chun conducts the musicians of sfSound. Parental notice: This show is rated PG-13 for partial nudity during the scenes set in Tahiti. Presented in collaboration with KUNST-STOFF Arts and sfSound. KUNST-STOFF is a San Francisco-based contemporary dance company that has been creating eclectic movement-focused art experiences in the Bay Area for the past 10 years. sfSound is a unique collective of composer/performers that will collaborate as the orchestra for Bonjour M. Gaugin performances at West Edge.
