Technical Director

Take a lead role in converting a raw space to an opera performance venue, consulting on design build plans, budgeting and pre-production planning and scheduling starting in January of 2020, working in tandem with the Production Manager, Master Electrician. In June 2020, start coordinating with shop and/or building sets and coordinating rentals. July 1 through August 15, lead a team to load in the venue, coordinate theatrical installation, install scenery, run set changeovers on three shows running in rep. Lead backstage deck crew on all shows. Work with Assistant Tech Director to share work day and show duties, Coordinate strike at the end of the run. Experience with drafting software experience is helpful, as are metal working and rigging skills. Carpentry skills are essential. We will be interested to hear about any past experience with installations such as ours.


Assistant Technical Director

Under the supervision of the TD, set up and prepare a raw space venue for an opera festival. Assist in all technical aspects and share work day for show duties.


House Manager

Prepare the house for audiences and lead a team of volunteer ushers on each of our nine performances. The House Manager will collaborate with West Edge staff in planning the layout of the space and will take a lead executing that plan, setting out and ensuring safety in all audience facing locations in the facility. We will want to hear about your experience with fire and life safety regulations and previous experience with events of comparable size and scope. Excellent customer service skills and unflappable patience are critical. Firm dedication to safety and attention to detail are also a must for this position. The House Manager will be in attendance at all shows. Additionally, the House Manager will lead a team of volunteers and staff  in setting out audience seating and dining areas and will be called for several days of work before the opening of the festival. Dates of Performances are: July 25, 26, 31, August 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9.


Box Office Manager

Answer the box office phone for four hours a day during set hours (specific times to be determined), sell and distribute tickets and manage the box office volunteers on show days. Excellent customer service skills and unflappable patience are critical. Knowledge of ticketing software is helpful. Compensation depends on experience. Master Electrician

The ME will be responsible for planning and setup of stage lighting for three operas running in rep working closely with our lighting designer. The ME will coordinate rentals and be responsible for the operation of lighting fixtures, a generator, dimmer pack, cable, and all other equipment necessary to keep the lights on and the power running. Consulting on the project starting in January 2020. The ME will work in coordination with the Technical Director, Production Manager, and West Edge staff to create a detailed production schedule. In July 2020 the ME will lead a team to install lighting in tandem with the installation of the stage, seating, and other theatrical infrastructure.  During the run of the show the ME will coordinate lighting changeovers, program and run the board during tech rehearsals and shows, and will also assist with setup of backstage and house electrical equipment. Experience in connection with setup of event spaces as well as traditional theatrical environments are both important to this position.
